Keeping On...

Sorry for not being able to post before today. Our computer is being blocked by something in the hospital and hasn't allowed us to check emails or anything requiring a log in for 2 days. Fortunately, one of the nurses is letting me borrow the COW (computer on wheels).
Annabelle is still doing well after her blood transfusion. She actually decided to see what it was like to have 100% oxygen sats last night (not good for her little heart either). But, she didn't stay there but for a second and has kept her sats around 80-86%...numbers we like! The attending MD PC this morning told me that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Mommy worries about everything and is wanting to make sure we have all our questions answered before going home. Yep, I said going home! We were told this morning to plan on either Monday or Tuesday! Annabelle is having a g-tube put in on Friday morning (either 6 or 8am as cardiac anesthesia is usually first case). She will begin clear liquids like Pedialyte on Saturday morning and will hopefully be up to full feeds of Mommy's milk by Saturday evening. Once we learn to take care of her and her new equipment, then we'll be on our way home!!!
Continue to keep praying that Annabelle's second surgery go well and she continue to progress nicely. This past month has been a struggle but it is so comforting to receive calls, postcards, gifts, and more. I have had every intention of writing thank you notes for the past month but time hasn't allowed for much other than loving our little angel. Please know how much all of you mean to us and how dear you all are! As soon as we figure this computer thing out, we'll be posting more pictures to enjoy.

I know it is hard to put hert through another surgery but it helped my son a whole lot. He had a permanant g-tube put in at 2 months and it was able to be removed at 2 1/2 years. It is a blessing to be able to get your child home. My son was born with HRHS and ended up at 8 months having a heart transplant. God is great and he will show you he is there no matter what.
