Long Night

It has been one long night. I noticed yesterday that Annabelle was acting a little more tired and had zero interest in her bottle. Then later last night her oxygen saturations kept dropping and staying quite low. They are supposed to stay between 75-85% and she was staying around 70% or lower. I paged the nurse to come look at her and make sure she wasn't blue. Annabelle was not blue but didn't have her usual rosey-ness and looked very pale to me. So, the nurse paged the doctor and they decided to do a chest x-ray and run some bloodwork. The x-ray was good but her bloodwork showed that she is anemic. Then came the real fun, Annabelle had to have another peripheral iv put in since her other one blew yesterday. She is a very hard stick. It took about 1 1/2 hours to try to get an iv in with no luck. The nurse brought her back to the room to let her get her feed and rest a little. Later, another nurse from the NICU came and was able to get an iv in her foot. Annabelle has been receiving a blood transfusion over the past 3 1/2 hours. Hopefully, this blood will make the difference that she needed. I will post more as I find out...
Please pray that this was a one time spell and that this blood will get her back to her norm or better.

This may seem like a setback in the progress but I am glad that the anemia was discovered at the hospital and not when she was home. Still praying and thinking of all of you each day. Hang in there!!! We love you!

We will pray all day that the transfusion helps Annabelle! As some one else said in a comment, "Thankfully you noticed the changes in her!!" God will guide all involved to do the right thing for that sweet thing, and give her and y'all the strength to jump yet another hurdle.

We send many many heart hugs & prayers!!

We are praying that all will be better after the transfusion. We will be praying that Annabelle will gain strength and will take her bottle. May God give you and Scott, and Annabelle the strength to get over this giant and continue to road to recovery. She is so beautiful.
