There is so much that I want to say about how sacred, special and redeeming it was for me to plan, put together & pull-off this sweet party. It was perfect…rain and all. As Scott said in his prayer over Luke before he dove into his smash cake, we have so much to be thankful for. Right now, my heart is full. Seeing these photos of my third baby’s first birthday party and recalling the blessed year we’ve had with him… I am just so, so very thankful.

I'm so glad that God blessed yall with another child because yall totally deserve it and one things for sure God couldn't have given them any better parents than you and Scott. Yall are such awesome parents. I only hope that one day I can be that kind of parent to my children. Yall are such wonderful role models. I love yall too much! What a truly sweet and special celebration of Luke's life! The decorations are precious, the food looks divine, and the birthday boy... well he is just about the cutest little one year old on the planet!
I don't know if I've ever told you before, but the very first entry I ever read on your blog was the one about you trying to plan Annabelle's first birthday celebration. It's been a long time since I read that post, but I still remember, vividly, feeling a pain in my heart as I read about you trying to put together the perfect flower bouquet for her and not knowing how to tell the lady at the flower store what you were doing.
That post spoke to me so deeply because as you know, I'm a tad bit "into" planning and birthday parties too! I felt such empathy for you, despite not knowing you at all! Today, I feel like I DO know you even though we have yet to meet and so it brings me great, great JOY to read this post today and see the jubilant smiles on everyone's faces! I know it did your heart good to be able to plan and successfully hold that special party to celebrate Luke's life! And I also know that another little life was equally celebrated on that same special day!
