One week after we brought Annabelle home, a dear friend came to take family photos of her here with us. I knew what she was offering was a tremendous gift. I had no idea how much they would mean to me until just two weeks later when she gave me the disc. I sat at our home computer for nearly an hour that night going over each picture again and again. I had chills the entire time seeing our family of four together…at home…in spite of all odds. Being behind on my thank you notes and wanting to share my daughter with the world, I had the idea to send out picture cards with a few of the images Gretchen had just captured for us. I uploaded a few of my favorites and carefully selected a scripture verse that I thought was perfect for that moment in our lives.
“I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart. I will tell of all your wonders.” Psalm 9:1
We are so thankful for your generosity to our family. May God richly bless you as He has blessed us!
I signed it…Scott, Rebecca, Wyatt and Annabelle
Just two days later, I sat in the emergency room at Lexington Hospital asking my daddy what I was supposed to do with nearly 400 thank you picture cards that I had just ordered. They hadn’t even arrived in the mail yet and she was gone.
He responded “You send them.”
I did.
The words, the scripture and, especially, the photos were perfect…even in our loss.
Because of Gretchen’s gift to us, I found myself wanting to capture every single moment of our lives. Scott bought me my first DSLR camera nearly two years ago and I was in love. As you have witnessed first hand through this blog, I have found a passion in capturing precious moments.
It is out of all of the beautiful moments I can still relive through the pictures that I am now taking a step in faith and following my heart…

INCREDIBLE! I think it is precisely what you are meant to do, friend! I wish you much luck and a multitude of blessings in this new venture. I know you will bless many families in the same way that your friend once blessed you!
And I love the logo... the heart almost reminds me of a butterfly :)
Love it...embrace your dreams and your calling.
Blessings on your new adventure!
Hey lady!! I just popped over to say Happy Anniversary!!! 9 years... CRAZY!
I am so happy you joining the photography world. It is a slippery slope! One of these days I will get my website done. I have a hard time getting it done when there is just way too much to blog about. I am going to do a photo-shoot of my little sisters baby tomorrow. I am so excited!!
We can compare notes. Good luck!
Congrats! You are awesome with words and a camera! Keep following your heart!
*God is Good*
Rebecca,
Just as you did I have sat and looked again, and again, and again at the pictures you took of our sweet Jack. You truly were meant to be a photographer. The incredible pictures and the time I spent with you has helped me with a new appreciation and a positive outlook for the challenges we have ahead. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I still have the one we received. Blessings on your newest endeavor!
You are really talented Rebecca. I love the business logo too. It looks like Annabelle might have helped pick it out. Blessings, Amy
I still have that card on my refrigerator. I love it!
XOXO,
Sandra Tracy
