Easter Eggstravaganza

Last Friday, our church held it’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza.  I’m not even going to try to guess how many hundreds {thousands?} of kids were there but it was so much fun!  Cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, bunnies, clowns, cotton candy, tractor train ride, jump houses, face painting, cotton candy and a crazy big egg hunt!  Did I mention the cotton candy?!?!?  Yum!  One of our pastors dressed as a mime and was handing out “Smile! God loves you!” stickers to everyone as they arrived.

I had to get my 11 mile long run in for the next half marathon I’m training for in 3 weeks so I showed up about 20 minutes after it started and met the boys there.   Wyatt had already been put to “work” wrestling the little boys in one of the jump houses.  He’s ruined for life now.  He seriously thinks that this is work.

Luke’s age group had their “hunt” first and then the grade school kids had a {free for all} egg hunt.   It truly is a blessing to have such a fun, amazing church family. 

Wyatt was so sweet and got a plush football for him and one for Luke {since Luke didn’t get one with his hunt}.  Apparently, Luke liked the one that Wyatt got better and pulled a switch-a-roo when Wyatt wasn’t looking.  Flames on a football are much cooler than flowers apparently.  After a mild three year old meltdown, the flames were returned to Wyatt.  I still thought it was the sweetest thing of Wyatt…he is always looking out for his little brother.

Luke is my animal lover and has no fear of any of them.  So, it was no surprise to turn around and find him with the rabbits.  Just don’t put your hands in their faces or they bite you…he learned the hard way but thankfully it was more of a nip than a bite.  Still didn’t slow that little turkey down though!

Looking forward to celebrating Jesus’ resurrection even more later this week.  The timing couldn’t be more perfect to help keep our eyes on HIM and all that His sacrifice means to our Eternity!
