{Chattooga Belle Farm}

What's better than a work trip with my kiddos?  A work trip with my BFF and her son!

We loaded up and headed to the furthermost northwestern corner of SC to visit a farm...it was quite an experience just getting there.  Roads had been completely washed out from the flooding in the mountains from Hurricane Helene so we had some interesting detours.  One that I hope to never encounter again was about 4 miles down the side of a tiny one lane bumpy dirt road on the side of the mountain cliff with zero protection to keep us from falling off.  It was just a wee bit stressful!

But we made it!  And went the long, non-detour way home.

The muscadines were in season so we had fun teaching Judah how to eat them. He was born here but mostly lived in Washington state his life so this was a wild experience for him.

I didn't realize it but the farm also owns a distillery next door and they were insistent that I photograph there too...although I'm doubtful that it makes it in the magazine.  The kids ate an apple and I experienced a real still (I'd only ever seen one on TV in the show Moonshiners.  Quite interesting.)

It was very overcast and even sprinkled rain at times but the sun came out just as we were about to leave so I got some sweet photos with both.

We did not plan to dress like twins but it happens when you are best friends I guess! We truly had the sweetest time together.  So thankful when we get to chat in real life and not in two different time zones across the entire continental country.

Later that week, we celebrated Scott's birthday and invited his parents to join us.
