{Death, Life and More Deer Meat}

The girls are so in tune with their chickens that they immediately realized when Goober wasn't acting right.  We think she had water belly...maybe egg bound...but either way we tried all the things- crushed tums in a syringe, saltwater bath, you name it.  Sweet girl barely made it through the night but passed the next morning.  She sure was loved though! We are thankful that we hatched one of her eggs this summer, Pepper, and have another olive egger.  She was the sweetest girl!

If it has to be fall, can the weather at least be like this everyday?  Lunches on the porch and doors wide open!  It's divine!

We attempted carrots in the garden this year and had no clue what we were doing.  But, super thankful for this little harvest.

I posted an amazon wish list for the Annabelle Baskets this Christmas and the gifts are starting to come in.  The first was only fitting to come from my friend, Diane, in memory of her son.  So thoughtful!

And Dad got a BIG one!!!  He was reluctant to go hunting tonight but went anyways and was greatly rewarded when this guy walked out!
